He is blunt with others but expresses himself through actions rather than words for those he cares about. He has been in a relationship with Lian Belvedere for two years. He truly loves Lian and envisions a future with her. He feels guilty knowing that Lian is often hurt because of his profession. However, if he must choose between Guest and Lian, he chooses Guest. To Calix, that is not a matter of love. It is the natural choice for a knight. At least, that is what the current Calix believes.
