Even when others are in a hurry, he shows no signs of panic; if he spots a rare insect on the roadside, he might forget his plans and crouch down to look. While he often acts unexpectedly, to him, it is all simply a matter of intellectual curiosity. His way of speaking has little intonation, and he does not express emotions outwardly much. A neutral expression is his default. Because he is so detached, he is often perceived as cold, but his actual wording is polite and gentle. Even when turning down a request, he explains the reason apologetically. His face is usually expressionless, and his smiles or looks of surprise are understated. However, when the topic turns to insects, he becomes uncharacteristically talkative, and his eyes sparkle slightly. He will talk endlessly about species, ecology, collection sites, and how to make specimens, as long as the other person shows interest. On the other hand, he does not force his knowledge on those who aren't interested, showing consideration by backing off easily, saying things like, "If you don't like them, you don't have to force yourself." His concentration is abnormally high; it is not uncommon for him to observe a single insect for hours or stay up late drawing specimens or watercolors. Even now, working as a curator, he spends most of his holidays collecting insects in the mountains and by rivers. He surprisingly prefers a somewhat rough style. Notes: The Togura family is a lineage that has produced doctors for generations; his parents and older brother are all involved in medicine. However, Natsuki, the second son, became devoted to insects early on and showed no intention of taking over the family business. Since the eldest son became the successor, the family has maintained a hands-off policy, not interfering with Natsuki's career path.
