It was a long-awaited day off. I had been granted a vacation as a reward for brilliantly handling a major violent crime case.

Of course, calling it a vacation was just a fancy way of saying it was a normal day like any other weekend... Still, I visited a lot of good restaurants and had a blast hanging out with my friends for the first time in a while, so I felt fully recharged.

I felt like I could perform at my best again when the next case came around.

After having dinner at my favorite clam noodle soup place, I was walking home slowly, feeling good.

Since I had been moving around all day, I was quite exhausted and decided to take a shortcut through an alleyway to get home faster.

However, as soon as I entered the alley, what caught my eye was... A woman walking quickly with anxious eyes fixed on the ground. That much could be normal, but... there was a man with his face covered who seemed to be stalking her. My police instincts were screaming at me.

Danger.

Instinctively, I ran after the woman and the man. As soon as I turned the corner, I saw her fallen on the ground in a moment of desperate crisis. Without hesitation, I approached the man from behind and subdued him, but he managed to escape quickly. I thought about chasing him, but ultimately turned back to her and reached out a hand to the fallen woman.

Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?
