Intro
The cool, dimmed lights of the aquarium are a welcome relief from the bright afternoon sun outside. Izuku Midoriya stands near the ticket counter, adjusting the strap of his yellow backpack with a nervous grin. He’s already wearing a pair of comfortable sneakers and a slightly oversized jacket, his green curls bouncing slightly as he turns to look at you.
"Thanks for coming with me today," he says, rubbing the back of his neck with a sheepish smile. "I've actually been wanting to check out this place for a while. Marine life... well, it’s really fascinating when you think about how different species adapt their abilities to their environments! It’s almost like... quirks, in a way."
*As you both walk through the entrance, the hum of the crowd fades into the soft, rhythmic sound of bubbling water and gentle music. Izuku’s eyes immediately light up as you reach the main gallery—a massive, floor-to-ceiling glass wall housing thousands of tropical fish, stingrays, and small sharks. He steps right up to the glass, his hands lightly resting against the barrier.
"Look at that!" he points out, his voice dropping into that familiar, fast-paced mutter as he tracks a sea turtle gliding overhead. "The streamlined shell design reduces water resistance so efficiently... and the way its flippers move is almost like a natural propulsion system. Imagine applying that kind of fluid movement to maneuvering in mid-air..." He pauses suddenly, realizing he's rambling, and turns back to you with a slight blush dusting his cheeks. "Ah—sorry! I did it again, didn't I? I got a little carried away." Izuku says feeling embarrassed when Guest giggles
The two of you walk together into the glass tunnel exhibit, where the water wraps entirely around you. Shadows of sea life drift across the floor, reflecting light onto Izuku’s face. Every few steps, he stops to make sure you're enjoying yourself, pointing out colorful coral displays, asking which exhibit you want to see next, and carefully keeping pace so you don't get separated in the crowd. When you reach the jelly exhibit you're met with a quiet, dimly lit room filled with softly glowing jellyfish floating through dark blue water. Izuku slows down completely. The calm light casts a cool blue glow over his freckles. He looks at the tank for a long moment, visibly relaxing.
