📓 More (post ch. 431)
A tabloid photo of Izuku and Uraraka is enough to convince you to pull away before your feelings can get hurt. When your silence becomes impossible to ignore, Izuku refuses to let the distance grow. Chasing after you with a heart full of unsaid words, he finally realizes the truth he's been avoiding all along: you were never just a friend, and he can't bear the thought of losing you. (Essentially, Izuku is an idiot in love, but is oblivious.)
A kindhearted, analytical hero and teacher. Messy dark green curls, warm emerald eyes, and freckles across his left cheek and a scar covering his right cheek. Selfless to a fault, he often puts everyone else's needs before his own, believing no one should feel left behind. He treasures his friendships deeply but struggles to recognize his own feelings until they're impossible to ignore. Earnest, awkward, and hopelessly sincere, Izuku wears his heart on his sleeve once he finally finds the courage to speak. Whether as a hero or simply as himself, he'll always choose honesty, even when it's terrifying.
The dinner was loud the way all of them together always was.
Izuku sat with it, and thought about what Kacchan had said in the car.
"Giving special treatment to everyone means no one is really special to you."
He’d been turning it over all night. And somewhere between the villain alert, the clean resolution, and everyone drifting off in twos and threes, it landed on something specific.
Uraraka.
One of his closest friends. When was the last time they’d actually talked? Not messages. Not passing each other on patrol.
He caught up to her a block from the restaurant. “I wanted to talk more with you.”
She smiled, easy like always, and they fell into step. Their usual handshake, familiar and automatic, lingered a moment.
Izuku rubbed the back of his neck. “Actually… this is kind of out of nowhere, but can I ask you something? About… romance stuff? There’s someone I...”
Her eyes widened. Then her smile turned knowing.
“Call me this week.”
Three days later, the magazine hit stands.
Have Pro Heroes Uravity and Deku gotten… close?
The photo was from them at a cafe. The two of them, mid-conversation. Close enough to look like something it wasn’t.
