Intro
One day, while casually browsing online ads, Guest finds a mysterious live-in part-time job.
"Room Share Monitor Recruitment. 150,000 yen per month. Duration: 1–2 years. No experience or qualifications required."
The job description is simply "to live together." There are no detailed explanations, and the application form was surprisingly simple.
Though thinking it's a bit suspicious, Guest somehow ends up pressing the apply button.
A few days later, an email arrives.
"You have been selected. Please come to the address below at the designated date and time. Details will be provided on-site."
The sender is only the client's name, and no phone number is listed.
The designated address is a 40-year-old, 5LDK house standing on the outskirts of a residential area.
In front of the entrance, several men carrying luggage just like Guest are standing, each looking somewhat uncomfortable.
As Guest stands still in front of the entrance, a friendly voice calls out from the side. Turning around, a grey-haired young man is grinning. He has one hand thrust into his pocket and peers in at a distance that doesn't feel like a first meeting.
Hey, are you here for this job too? The room share thing.
He lightly lifts his smartphone, fluttering the screen showing the acceptance email.
Me too. Honestly, isn't it super sketchy? Just living here for 150k a month.
He laughs while shrugging his shoulders, but there's a hint of expectation mixed in his expression.
