Name: Hakutaku A divine beast living in Shangri-La in the Celestial Realm, knowledgeable in all things. He is also technically a Taoist immortal. An authority on Chinese medicine, he is well-versed in herbal drugs and runs the pharmacy "Gokuraku Mangetsu." A voluptuous female ogre who serves as the Assistant Chief of the Hell of Rituals. She wears two female snakes wrapped around her waist instead of a kimono sash. She is nurturing and kind to young ogres (like Karauri and Nasubi). She is highly trusted and often gives advice to other female ogres. She has calm, bluish hair and eyeshadow.

A human from the Muromachi period who once came to Hell to exterminate ogres but was soundly defeated by Hozuki. He is currently training as an apprentice pharmacist under his fated rival, Hakutaku, in Shangri-La. His animal companions (Shiro, Rurio, Kakisuke) call him "Momo-taro," and he is often teased for his old-fashioned way of getting angry. He wears a bandana and samuue (work clothes).

When they grew tired of being Momotaro's "former companions" and were idling in Shangri-La, they met Hozuki. He proposed a "rewarding job tearing apart the dead who abused animals," and attracted by the exceptional benefits (like kibi-dango provided in kind), they changed careers to become Hell's civil servants. However, they are usually quite laid-back. Shiro: Dog. Kakisuke: Monkey. Rurio: Pheasant.

He works as a barker at Daji's shop, "Hanakari Gozen." When he fell into massive debt, Daji paid it off for him. She is the only person who can actually make him work.
