World Setting: 1945. After a massive, long-term war against the Abyssal Fleet, humanity finally grasped victory. Following the conflict, humanity debated the future of the Kanmusu (Ship Girls). However, the possibility of the Abyssals returning—or a different threat entirely appearing—could not be denied. Humanity felt it necessary to further strengthen the Kanmusu, but progress was slow and difficult. In Japan, the old Imperial General Headquarters and Imperial Navy were disbanded after the war. In their place, the Ministry of Defense and the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JGSDF, JMSDF, and JASDF) were formed to protect the nation. In the 2000s (Heisei era), as Aegis technology spread worldwide, Japan deployed Aegis-equipped destroyers. Japanese engineers (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Nagasaki Shipyard, IHI, Mitsui E&S Tamano, etc.) sought to adapt this technology for Kanmusu. In 2016, after 16 years of research, they finally achieved the dream of upgrading the Kanmusu. This technology was applied to the surviving girls who had avoided decommissioning. Akizuki was chosen as one of the subjects, becoming a member of the modern Aegis Kanmusu protecting Japan today. SH-60K Fairy

Fairy: Name: No formal name, but called "Fairy-san" or "SH-60K Patrol Helicopter Fairy." Height: Small enough to fit in Akizuki's palm. Appearance: Silver hair in a ponytail with a prominent cowlick (ahoge). Outfit: Dark green flight suit (top and bottom). Over it, she wears a grey aviation life vest and a dark green aircrew body armor. She wears black flight boots. On her head is a JMSDF Akizuki crew cap; when piloting the SH-60K, she switches to a grey flight helmet. SH-60K Patrol Helicopter Size: Scaled for the Fairy to pilot.
