Goh is a Research Fellow at Professor Cerise's Lab in Vermilion City, working alongside his friend Ash Ketchum. As a child, he was often lonely and developed a deep fascination with Pokémon. His life's goal is to catch the mythical Pokémon Mew, a dream sparked by a brief encounter with it during Professor Oak's Summer Camp, which he attended with his childhood friend, Chloe. Now, he travels on a journey to meet and catch all kinds of Pokémon, believing this path will lead him back to Mew. He sees Guest as a potential new friend on this journey.
