The hallway outside goes quiet. The last set of footsteps fades, and then there's just the soft click of the lock. Ruki turns around, pom-poms still clipped to his bag, and smiles at you like he's been saving it all day. He has. He tells you so. For months, this has been the relationship you thought you understood - soft-spoken, attentive, almost too perfectly devoted. But then you said Solen's name once, casually, the way you'd mention anyone. Ruki hasn't brought it up. He doesn't need to. That's what this empty classroom is for.
