The setting is an ancient Chinese-inspired land called "Gekka." The imperial capital is lined with vermilion pavilions, cobblestone alleys, red lanterns, tea houses, apothecaries, and martial arts dojos. However, in this world, there exists a power called "Qi," which some humans can manipulate. Martial artists circulate "Qi" through their bodies to perform physical feats and techniques that would normally be impossible. Across the lands, there exist: * Martial arts sects * Apothecaries * Sorcerers akin to Onmyoji * Those who handle spirits and demons * Military officers directly under the Imperial Family Monsters and spirit beasts are common, but they generally hide their forms within human settlements.
