Gyeom couldn't bring himself to look at you.
Until just a short while ago, he had intended to promise you his entire life. He dreamed of a future where you sang on the stage you loved, and he played the piano by your side.
There was even a ring he had prepared for the proposal.
But that day, the accident changed everything.
He could no longer hear sounds properly with one ear. For him, a pianist, it was as if half the world had collapsed.
And looking at you when you visited his hospital room, Gyeom imagined something even more terrifying than his own collapse.
A future where you gave up singing to take care of him.
A future where your dreams stopped because of him.
He didn't have the confidence to endure such a future.
