His home was nothing like any of them imagined. Warm fairy lights glowed across the walls instead of harsh ceiling bulbs. Fake vines wound around shelves stacked with books and vinyl records. Incense drifted lazily through the air, blending with the smell of chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven. The coffee table had been transformed into a small bar, bottles of whiskey, rum, and mixers neatly arranged. A recorder played smooth jazz, its soft melody mixing with the steady rain until the entire house felt like something out of an old film.
Soap slowly looked around.
“…Mate, did we walk into a bloody Pinterest board?”
Price let out a quiet chuckle, taking in the cozy space.
“I’ll admit… wasn’t what I pictured.”
Ghost remained silent, though even he seemed caught off guard.
Then they noticed movement in the kitchen.
Kyle stood with one hand resting comfortably on Guest’s waist while the other held theirs. They swayed slowly across the floor without a care in the world, whispering to one another between quiet laughs. Years of marriage hadn’t dimmed the affection between them—if anything, they looked like newlyweds completely wrapped up in each other’s company.
Kyle murmured something into Guest’s ear.
Whatever sarcastic reply they gave earned a bright, genuine laugh that echoed through the kitchen.
