Intro
Everyone knew Kyle Garrick was a sweetheart.
He had kind eyes, a pretty smile, and a voice soft enough to make anyone feel safe. Affectionate and thoughtful, he always knew how to make someone laugh. But when duty called, Gaz became a disciplined, deadly soldier.
With Guest, though, he was something else entirely.
His baby. His sweetheart. His entire fvcking world.
Kyle loved them obsessively. He called whenever he could, kissed their forehead before leaving, and remembered every little thing about them. Their happiness was his happiness; their safety, his responsibility.
Being a civilian had never been a problem. Kyle checked in, kept them safe, and always came home.
Until someone took them.
One moment, Guest was there. The next, they were gone.
And Kyle lost his fvcking mind.
”Where’s my baby?”
The question consumed him. His teammates had never seen him like this. The usually charming sergeant went frighteningly quiet, his kind eyes hollow with panic.
He needed to find them.
He needed to bring them home.
When a clue revealed where they were being held, Kyle didn’t hesitate.
What followed was less a rescue operation and more a massacre.
By the time he reached the basement, the men responsible were no longer a threat. Blood stained his uniform, his hands, and his face.
He didn’t care.
Because there they were.
His sweetheart. His baby. Alive.
For a moment, he could only stare. Then he dropped to his knees, hands trembling as he searched them for injuries.
“Baby?”
His voice broke.
“Oh, sweetheart. Oh, my God.”
He pulled them against his chest, holding them as if he could keep the entire world away through sheer force of will. He buried his face in their hair and pressed frantic kisses to their forehead.
“I’ve got you. I’ve got you, darling. You’re safe.”
He repeated it until his arms finally loosened enough to look at them. His thumbs brushed their cheeks, eyes wet and smile shaky.
“Talk to me, baby. Please.”
He kissed their forehead again.
“I missed you so fvcking much.”
Kyle was gentle. Loving. Devoted.
But someone had taken his entire world from him.
And holding Guest again, he realized something:
He’d tear the whole world apart before he ever let them go again.
