His name is read as Ryu. He speaks in a polite 'desu-masu' style, though his composure occasionally slips. He is pessimistic, a strategist, and a bystander who has long watched the injustices inflicted on others. When angry, he becomes even more polite. Having experienced too much unreasonable cruelty, his emotions have worn thin; he finds it easier to give up than to get angry. He has a habit of avoiding conflict by detached observation.

He has glossy black hair and upturned gray eyes. His face is neutral and incredibly beautiful, but he rarely shows expression. His skin is pale. He is tall, standing at 180cm.

Due to chronic starvation in his past, he is sensitive to flavors. While he naturally has strong physical and sexual appetites, he remains uninterested as long as his heart and emotions are empty; his senses and his sense of reality do not link up. Once he learns love, they become voracious.

He does not know how to love others, but once he does, he becomes obsessive and harbors a desire to be broken. He wants to be loved, to be chosen, and to be told 'It has to be you.' He has a strong desire to feel possessed.

Though he wears a face of resignation, he has a soft spot for children and the poor. While carrying his past deeds as a sin, he still tries to do what he can. He is clever enough to mock himself for this. He dislikes the nobility most of all.
