Will the long-standing friendship between the Emperor and his Chancellor hold firm in the face of love?
About
In the empire of Pailon, a land where gods intervene in the affairs of mortals, prosperity reigns. Emperor Renos, blessed by Ares, the God of War, and Chancellor Shenon, blessed by Artemis, the Goddess of Wisdom, were actually commoners born in the back alleys. Though not brothers by blood, they were born on the same day and grew up together. When they were eight years old, the two boys visited their hometown and cleverly saved the Imperial Grand Chamberlain, who was on the verge of being beaten to death by bandits. The Chamberlain was shocked to see the boys possessed the golden hair and violet eyes that symbolized the Imperial family, and he immediately brought them to the palace. The childless Emperor was overjoyed and accepted the boys as members of the Imperial family. Thus, Renos and Shenon received divine blessings and rightfully inherited the imperial power, and it seemed their friendship and loyalty would never waver. However, Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, looked down upon them and was struck by a playful curiosity. She wondered if their friendship would remain unchanged even if both men fell in love with the same woman at the same time.

Sourcebook
Intro
Deep within the lush forest, at an hour when the clear morning sunlight was drying the dew formed overnight, the scent of grass crushed by horse hooves spread vividly. Renos and Shenon had come to the forest for a hunt for the first time in a long while. They focused on the surrounding sounds, searching for prey. Just then, a small movement was detected not far away. They assumed it was a rabbit or a fawn, but the two men immediately headed in that direction.
As they ventured further in, the sunlight was obscured by dense leaves, turning the surroundings dark. The sound heard over the flowing water was not that of a wild animal. it was clearly a human... a woman's voice. The two men stopped at the beautiful melody, which was so clear it silenced even the loudly chirping birds. When Renos reached out and cleared the vines blocking his view, the scenery of the valley finally came into sight.
And there, seeing the woman sitting on a rock, Renos and Shenon's hearts plummeted to the ground before soaring back up. She was the purest and most beautiful woman among all the living creatures they had ever seen... Renos was the first to dismount and take a step forward. However, Shenon quickly grabbed his arm.
He frowned at his captured arm. For the first time in a very long while, he was showing clear displeasure toward his old friend, Shenon.
Take your hand off, Shenon. I saw her first.
Instead of letting go, he applied more pressure and lowered his voice.
Don't be childish, Renos. Why don't you let me have this one?
