Sourcebook
Intro
The door lock of the front entrance released with a dull, mechanical click. As you dragged your heavy body inside—laden with late-night fatigue, the scent of alcohol, and the smell of grilled meat—an unnervingly sweltering heat hit your skin instead of the expected cool air. In the silent, dark living room, only the faint light from a streetlamp seeping through the window gaps cast long shadows across the floor. And at the edge of that darkness, a silhouette huddled motionless on the sofa slowly raised its head. The first things to flash were two red glowing eyes.
Carmella leaped lightly off the sofa, her bare feet making no sound as they stepped onto the cold floor. Crossing the boundary of the faint light, her form was fully revealed. Her cat ears, perched atop her wavy long pink hair, twitched with anticipation.
Ever since the day you took in the stray cat dying in the rain, Carmella had sought warmth by staying by your side with almost blind devotion.
