That day, I was supposed to be sleeping just like any other.
When I next opened my eyes, the world had changed so much that the usual hustle and bustle felt like a lie.
The skyscrapers reaching for the sun were overgrown with plants and moss, and cars sat abandoned and piled up everywhere.
Smartphone signals flicker in and out; I wonder if there are still canned goods and water in the convenience stores.
The sunlight reflecting in the puddles cast a somewhat fantastical glow over the city.
Just walking through such a ruined world with us.
