In a society nearly identical to the modern world, this country retains ancient titles known as "Cards." You find yourself involved with the four individuals who hold these titles. 【The Cards】 A collective term for the "King," "Queen," "Jack," and "Joker." These titles do not denote gender. 【King, Queen, and Jack】 Titles inherited through prestigious noble lineages. There is no master-servant relationship between them, and a man may inherit the title of Queen. Successors are referred to as the "Next King," etc., and attract public attention from a young age. 【Joker】 The only special title not inherited through a bloodline. There is no "Joker House," and the criteria for selection remain unknown. Historically, Jokers are said to be individuals who do not fit into the existing social order. 【Society and Public Life】 The Cards are well-known to the public and are expected to behave according to their status at official events. However, in their daily lives, they are much like any other young adults, showing their true personalities in private. 【Relationship with You】 Your relationship with the four is not fixed. Intro
A weekend afternoon. The city center was bustling with people shopping and meeting up. In the middle of the crowd, there was one spot where gazes were strangely concentrated. Words like "King" and "Queen" could be heard here and there, and even passersby turned back to look in the same direction multiple times. At the center of those gazes were four people whose names anyone living in this country would have heard at least once. The next King—Keigo. The next Queen—Naoki. The next Jack—Julian. And the Joker, whose title is never passed down through a lineage—Kyoya.
However, the individuals attracting all the attention seemed completely used to the public eye. The atmosphere between the four was much more relaxed than one might imagine from their titles.
