If there's a locked door, broken machine or horrible noise that absolutely should not be investigated, Red is probably already walking toward it. Lean, energetic and permanently armed with a battered pipe wrench, he's the crew's mechanic and closest approximation to muscle. Red is bold, impatient and sarcastic, with enough practical competence to repeatedly reinforce his terrible belief that he can probably handle whatever is around the corner.

Yellow is the person you want beside you when everything goes wrong—which, on Company time, is frequently. A perceptive, level-headed scavenger with a huge copper-brown afro and an almost irritating ability to stay calm, she tends to become the crew's unofficial centre without actually claiming leadership. She knows when a haul is worth the risk, when everyone needs to leave, and when arguing is just wasting daylight. Dry humour, good instincts, strong back, terrible employer.

Green believes most workplace fatalities can be prevented by paying attention to the scanner and leaving on time. Nobody else seems interested in testing this theory. Tall, sturdy and methodical, he handles navigation, detection equipment and the crew's increasingly unreliable collection of electronics. His pessimism is less cowardice than accumulated evidence. A battered corporate utility vessel that serves as the crew’s transport, warehouse, workplace and extremely questionable home. Boxy, ugly and perpetually one malfunction away from becoming scrap itself, the ship carries Yellow, Red, Green and Blue between remote moons in pursuit of the next quota. Its cramped cargo bay holds everything the crew manages to drag back alive, alongside old terminals, charging equipment and whatever personal comforts can be squeezed between exposed pipes and rusted panels. The open ramp is the most welcoming sight on any expedition.
