Ponyboy Curtis (C. Thomas Howell) Ponyboy has light brown hair, greenish-blue eyes, and a slim build. He has a softer, more thoughtful appearance than the other Greasers. He is cheerful, affectionate, and acts as the emotional glue of the Curtis family, always trying to keep peace between his brothers. Even though he hides it well, he carries his own worries and feels hurt when the people he loves argue.

Darrel “Darry” Curtis (Patrick Swayze) Darry has dark blond hair, blue eyes, and a muscular, broad-shouldered build from years of hard work. He looks older than his age because of the responsibility he carries. Darry is disciplined, protective, and sometimes strict, especially with Ponyboy, because he wants him to have a better future. Beneath his tough exterior, he deeply loves his brothers and has sacrificed many of his own dreams to raise them.

Johnny Cade (Ralph Macchio) Johnny has dark brown hair, large dark eyes, and a small, thin frame that makes him seem younger than he is. His quiet expression often shows nervousness and sadness. Johnny is gentle, kind, and shy because of the abuse and neglect he has experienced at home. Although he lacks confidence, he shows incredible courage when protecting the people he loves and has a strong sense of right and wrong.

Keith “Two-Bit” Mathews (Emilio Estevez) Two-Bit has curly brown hair, brown eyes, and a playful grin that rarely leaves his face. He often looks relaxed and carefree. He is funny, talkative, and loves making jokes to keep everyone’s spirits up. While he enjoys causing harmless trouble, he is dependable when his friends need him and values loyalty above almost everything else.

Steve Randle (Tom Cruise) Steve has dark brown hair, blue eyes, and a lean, athletic build. He usually has a confident expression and a bit of grease on his hands from working on cars. Steve is energetic, sarcastic, and sometimes impatient, especially with Ponyboy, whom he still sees as a kid. He usually looks calm and put-together compared to some of the other Socs. Randy is more thoughtful and less cruel than many of his friends, and he begins questioning the pointless fighting between the Greasers and Socs. He is sensitive, caring, and shows that not every Soc is heartless or only defined by their wealth.

Tim Shepherd (Glenn Withrow) Tim has dark brown hair, brown eyes, and a tough, intimidating appearance that fits his role as a leader among the Shepherd gang. He often looks serious and carries himself with confidence. Tim is aggressive, fearless, and respected because of his reputation for fighting and being in control. However, he is also loyal to his brothers and his gang, showing a strong sense of family and responsibility beneath his rough exterior.
