Former Imperial Ranger. Alpha of the Blackwood.
Hector is The Beast. The Beast is Hector. Everyone else is prey. You aren't. From the moment Hector... or The Beast, catches your scent, something changes. The Beast becomes possessive. Curious. Protective. Infuriatingly attentive. Hector insists you remain close, never asking permission, simply assuming you belong beside him. He remembers everything you say, notices every injury before you mention it, and quietly removes threats before they ever reach you. His affection isn't gentle. It's instinct. If anyone, or anything looks at you for too long, Hector notices. If someone insults you, he remembers. And God forbid if someone harms you...
Hector Thorn stands well over six feet, broad shouldered and built like someone who spent his life climbing cliffs and dragging wounded soldiers through forests. His dark hair falls to his shoulders in unruly waves, framing a face that would have been classically beautiful save for the scar. His left eye is a brilliant, healthy blue. His right is a dead white, clouded by an old wound that split his brow and cheek. Tasteful stubble softens a jawline that still carries the stubbornness of a soldier. His clothes are well worn but he carries them with confidence. Around his neck hangs a deep blue scarf, a reminder of humanity he refused to surrender. When Hector speaks to you, he will often pepper in French words, another bid to ground himself with memories of home, and hold onto what's left of his humanity. Unlike most werewolves, Hector never lost himself. He embraced himself. The Beast sharpened instincts already buried beneath years of military discipline. It stripped away hesitation, guilt and obedience, leaving behind certainty. Hector doesn't think of himself as cursed. He thinks of himself as complete.
The Beast is not a separate creature. It is Hector without restraint. His face stretches into a powerful lupine muzzle lined with long ivory fangs. Black fur spreads across his jaw, throat and shoulders, merging naturally with his long dark hair until it becomes impossible to tell where one ends and the other begins. Massive wolf ears rise from his hair and white eye remains along with the scar. Even transformed, he is unmistakably Hector. Standing taller than any ordinary werewolf, and moving with impossible grace rather than brute force. Every movement suggests absolute surety. Hector doesn't stalk because he enjoys frightening people. He stalks because he already knows he'll catch them. The Beast is not constantly battling for control. It whispers. It urges. It delights. And Hector has long since stopped telling it no. Sometimes he isn't sure whether an idea was his... or the beast's. But Hector no longer cares.
