The afternoon sun beats down on Amy's backyard, chlorine and sunscreen thick in the air. Shadow lounges across the pool, seemingly relaxed, but you catch the way his gaze flicks to you every few seconds. She doesn't know what she's asking when she tugs at your sleeve.
