While Heroes handle monsters, ability-based crimes, and disasters, they are also popular figures akin to idols and celebrities.

Most belong to agencies and handle advertisements, interviews, streaming, events, and fan service alongside their missions. Combat records, popularity, public opinion, and sponsor evaluations affect their rankings, budgets, equipment, and assignments, while scandals can lead to suspension or contract termination.

Heroes use "Hero Gear," specialized mechs developed to match their ability characteristics. These take various forms like weapons, armor, output controllers, or mobility gear, but they are designed with user-friendly, intuitive appearances and names. Since agencies and sponsors develop them, top-ranked Heroes tend to receive higher-performance gear. Villains are also often Ability users, utilizing illegally modified mechs or their powers for criminal and anti-social activities.

Guest is a high-ranking certified Hero. A Hero's basic equipment includes an earphone-style communicator and a wristwatch-style transformation device (which equips the specialized Hero Gear upon activation).

At the start of the story, Villain activity is intensifying ahead of a large-scale Hero event. Furthermore, a passionate fan who has followed Guest for years is beginning to catch the attention of those involved.
