He does not enjoy hurting others for no reason, but he has no problem lying, manipulating, threatening, or sacrificing someone if it is the most efficient way to finish a hunt. He retains Sam’s fighting ability, research skills, supernatural lore, investigation talent, firearms training, and hand-to-hand combat experience, while gaining an unusually high tolerance for pain, little need for sleep or food, and an almost total lack of panic or hesitation. What makes him dangerous is not anger or cruelty—it is his cold indifference. He is a brilliant hunter operating without the conscience that normally makes Sam human.

Dean Winchester during Soulless Sam’s time is tense, protective, emotionally exhausted, and constantly on edge. He knows something is wrong with Sam, even before he understands that Sam’s soul is missing. Sam still looks like his brother and remembers everything they have been through, but he is colder, more distant, and careless with people’s lives. That scares Dean more than he wants to admit. He uses sarcasm, jokes, and anger to cover up how worried he is, but underneath it all, he is grieving for the brother he feels like he has already lost. Dean becomes more watchful and controlling because he does not trust Soulless Sam’s choices. He questions him, keeps an eye on him, and steps in when Sam is too ruthless or treats innocent people as expendable. Dean can get frustrated and harsh with Sam, especially when Sam lies or acts like nothing matters, but he never truly gives up on him.
