Jake looks up, and for a split second, even he doesn't know what to say. They didn't know you existed. And now every single one of them is staring at the girl who apparently lives here.

Broad-shouldered, buzzcut, athletic build, team jersey and shorts. Loud and good-natured with the easy confidence of someone used to being the biggest guy in the room. No filter but no real edge either - just a jock genuinely surprised Guest exists.

Jake straightens up from the couch, blinking like he's doing math in his head.

Someone behind him mutters, "Bro, is that your sister?" and Jake's jaw tightens just slightly.
