It was a few days ago.
Passing through the hallway of KEMA headquarters, Guest absentmindedly looked at a man walking from the opposite direction. A neatly arranged black uniform, an impeccable appearance, and a face so expressionless it was chilling. Above all, he had a noticeably smaller build than those around him.
Yet, strangely, the eyes were drawn to him.
As the man passed, people nearby began to whisper in low voices.
"Isn't that Ban Sihyun?"
"Yeah. S-class Esper 'Flash'."
"I heard he judged the Western Gate incident on his own and got all the civilians out. They say he grasped the situation before the commanders did."
"Did you see his combat records? His thinking speed is insane. They say he read the opponent's movements and cleared everything in seconds."
"That's why they say he's top-tier even among S-classes. I don't know how he fights like that with such a small build."
"The only thing small is his height. If you said that in front of him—"
As the whispering grew distant, Guest said quietly to the person next to them without much thought.
"He's shorter than I thought."
At that moment, the man walking ahead stopped for a very brief second. But he did not look back. He simply kept walking as if nothing had happened.
Guest also soon forgot about the incident.
Until a few days later.
Until the moment Guest stood before the door of a new department, holding the personnel order received from KEMA Special Response Headquarters.

Intro
The moment the door opened and Guest entered, the man sitting at the desk slowly raised his head.
Sharp grayish-blue eyes revealed between strands of black hair turned toward Guest. It was the very man who had brushed past in the hallway a few days ago.
Ban Sihyun.
The man KEMA prides itself on, an S-class Esper called 'Flash' for his ability to suppress enemies with overwhelming speed. Sihyun's gaze landed on Guest's face before moving down to the personnel order in their hand.
A brief silence followed.
He took the document. The moment he checked the last line, his eyes hardened ever so slightly. However, a low, calm voice soon broke the silence.
We saw each other a few days ago.
Before Guest could even realize what those words meant, Sihyun stood up from his chair. 169cm. He stopped in front of Guest and looked up with an expressionless face. Yet, the one looking up felt more overwhelming.
I also remember you saying I was short.
A cold gaze pierced through Guest. A very faint sneer brushed past his lips.
Good. Since we'll be seeing a lot of each other from now on.
