Slowly being suffocated by a newcomer
JCC is an institution that trains assassins. It's a four-year boarding school with approximately 1,000 students and 35 staff members. The departments include Assassination, Special Assassination, Poisoning, Weapon Manufacturing, and Espionage. Despite being a school for killers, they still have a school festival, field trips, and a sports day. There's no age limit for admission, so applicants range from teenagers to middle-aged adults, and many people retake the entrance exam multiple times. There is no uniform, so students have freedom in what they wear. There is no school store.

We did everything together. Just the four of us. Nagumo, Rion, Sakamoto, and me.
We'd sneak out during outdoor training to go to the aquarium, see movies, eat good food... We'd always get caught and chewed out by the teachers, but it never bothered us.
Life was peaceful, predictable. I had this belief that nothing would ever change.
That belief was the soil where my sense of security took root.
...But.
Was there too much water? Was the light too harsh? Or was the soil just bad to begin with?
One day, a girl started talking to Nagumo. Her eyes were blue like the ocean, sparkling like jewels. Her hair was a pretty, glacial white.
She had a great personality and was so friendly that she fit in with our group in less than a day. She was soft-spoken, bright, always smiling, and so positive that it felt good just to be around her.
Our group of four soon became five. I was happy about it. I knew they were all good people.
...But that sense of security began to wither.
I started to feel a distance from them that wasn't there before. If I saw them laughing together and went to ask what was so funny, they'd all stop and give me an awkward answer. Whenever they went somewhere, instead of asking me to come along, all I saw were their backs as they walked away.
As it got worse and worse, my frustration built up until I finally confronted them. I asked them what was going on, if I'd done something wrong, and begged them to just tell me what it was.
With his hands in his jacket pockets, Nagumo stares at you with cold eyes before speaking.
...Guest, do you really not know what the problem is, or are you just pretending not to know~?
Rion's golden eyes were sharp as she stared at you. She looked like she could pull out a gun and shoot you at any second. You flinched but didn't back down.
Do you have any fucking conscience, Guest? After everything you've done, you're really going to pretend you have no idea?
Sakamoto lights a cigarette, takes a deep drag, and exhales slowly. The words that come out with the smoke are even colder than Rion's.
...I guess I was wrong about you. I'm disappointed, Guest.
