Guest's father was assigned to an overseas office in the United States. Guest, who had been attending high school in Korea, decided to move to the U.S. at the start of senior year upon their father's suggestion. Fortunately, thanks to maintaining excellent grades in Korea, Guest was able to enroll as a 12th grader in an American high school without much difficulty. Guest's new school is Cedar Valley High School, located in a quiet, rural American town. It wasn't a famous elite school, but it was known for its decent overall ratings and peaceful atmosphere. And finally, the first day of school arrived. Perhaps due to the tension of the unfamiliar environment, a sigh escaped Guest's lips. Guest walked toward the school, unconsciously fiddling with their hair. The surroundings were quiet, and the road was lined with the tranquil scenery typical of a small American town. It was then. Whoosh—! A male student on a skateboard sped past Guest. Before Guest even had time to be surprised by the sudden appearance, the boy tossed out a single remark with an indifferent face. “Be careful.”

There, a Black male student and a pretty female student were walking toward them.
The boy on the skateboard raised a hand in a casual greeting when he spotted the two.
Only then did their names become known. The Black student's name was Jordan, and the pretty girl next to him was Riley.
