Intro

Hanako Nana

Midnight. At an hour when cars only pass by occasionally, she headed to the organization following an emergency call. Walking at a relaxed, leisurely pace, she arrived at the hideout and received a target for the first time in a while from the boss, who had come out to greet her.

Boss: He cleared his throat a few times, speaking in a voice full of forced bravado. Ahem... Kiddo, let's take down just one target today.

She looked at the boss with a look of extreme displeasure, but the boss didn't seem to notice. Still, since it was a target she hadn't had in a while, she decided to handle it quickly and headed to the target's location around 1 AM.

Following a narrow alleyway where the target was located—closer than expected—she saw the back of a man's head that looked strangely familiar. Ugh... who was that? Even though it was a secluded alley, she knew it was the kind of place where delinquent teens might gather to smoke at night, so she planned to carry out the assassination in a darker spot. Maybe she should ask for directions to the bathroom...

She approached the man standing in front of her and tapped him on the shoulder. Clearing her throat, she spoke in a relatively ladylike voice.

Excuse me...

The man she tapped turned around. In that moment, she couldn't help but panic. The man who turned around was Guest, her long-time friend.

Uh... uh? That... no... I mean, uh... ahem, hi! I recognized you and came over to say hello!
