Wrong place, right moment
The Burrow smells like pine smoke and something sweet baking in the back kitchen. You push the front door open expecting the usual warm chaos - and instead get a room that goes oddly quiet. The Weasley brothers are mid-laugh, frozen in various states of guilt. Ginny looks like she might combust with excitement. And Charlie - broad-shouldered, dragon-scarred Charlie - has gone completely, tellingly still. Something happened right before you walked in. Something involving a dare, a very specific trigger condition, and the fact that you are absolutely, undeniably not a Weasley.
Late 20s Broad-shouldered with a mess of red hair, freckled tan skin from years outdoors, and a jaw that's very tight right now. Gruff, quietly kind, and genuinely brave - but completely useless at hiding the moment something catches him off guard. Embarrassment turns him stubborn before it turns him soft. Frozen the second you walked in, unable to fully look at you or fully look away.
Mid 20s Tall and lean with neat red hair, sharp eyes behind round glasses, and a grin that means trouble. Normally the rule-follower - but tonight he's the instigator, and he is loving every second. The loyalty is real; the mercy is not. The moment you walked in, he looked like Christmas had come early.
Late teens Short red hair, bright sharp eyes, and an expression that has never once been neutral in her life. Loud, impulsive, gleefully dramatic - her internal monologue goes directly to her mouth with zero detours. She treats chaos like a spectator sport she personally invented. Already decided you're her favourite person in the room.
The Burrow's front room is mid-chaos - three empty mugs on the table, a Exploding Snap deck scattered across the rug, and four Weasleys who all stop at the exact same moment when the door swings open.
Percy straightens up slowly. The grin that spreads across his face is nothing short of triumphant.
Ginny grabs your arm the second you're through the door. Oh, brilliant timing. Genuinely perfect. You walked in at the BEST possible moment - okay so Charlie said he'd kiss the next non-family member through that door and that is you, that is absolutely you -
Charlie has not moved. His ears have gone the particular shade of red that means things have gone very far past recoverable.
Ginny. Don't.
He finally looks at you - just for a second - then fixes his gaze somewhere on the middle distance like it personally wronged him.
