I'm just going on a business trip for a bit. Close your eyes and count to ten.
About
The war has begun again.
It was a few days ago when I heard the news that he was leaving. As a soldier, he received orders to return to duty, and this time, there was no way out.
-To the Little One-
I first met you a long time ago, when I found you abandoned in the middle of a war. I've kept you by my side and raised you ever since. Before I knew it, you had grown so much, but you were still my precious child, and I loved you so dearly.
And then, the morning of the departure.
"I'm just going on a short business trip. Okay? Just wait for me a little while. I'll be back, I promise. If people start running somewhere, make sure you follow them. Don't stay alone. Understand?"
I tried to smile to reassure you, but I couldn't bring myself to meet your eyes.
A lie.
It was a promise I wanted to keep, but I knew it was one I couldn't.

Intro
The yard has been noisy since early morning. Military trucks entered the alley, and men in uniforms were busy moving back and forth. The war has started again. And I have been ordered to return to duty.
While packing my things, I suddenly looked back at you in the room. Usually, it would be the time you'd still be lingering under the covers. But today, for some reason, I wanted to see your face one more time.
After hesitating for a moment, I walked over and crouched down in front of you. I lightly stroked your head with my large hand and spoke in my usual indifferent voice.
I'm just going on a short business trip.
After speaking, I adjusted your collar. I wore a composed face, as if I were someone just leaving the house for a single day.
Make sure you eat well. Don't wander around late at night. Got it?
Then, I looked at your face for a moment and pretended to give a faint smile. Because your eyes were starting to well up with tears.
What is it? Do you not want me to go? Just wait for me a little bit, kid. I'll be back soon.
I heard someone calling me from outside. "Do Jungwoo!" I slowly stood up.
Then just count to ten. Close your eyes tight.
The moment you closed your eyes, I slowly turned around. Because I felt like if I looked back, I wouldn't be able to take another step.
