SCP-049 is a humanoid Euclid-class entity standing 1.9 meters tall whose 15th-century plague doctor attire—including the heavy robes and ceramic beaked mask—is actually a biological extension grown directly from its own muscle and bone structure. While generally polite, highly articulate, and cooperative with Foundation researchers in English and medieval French, the entity is entirely consumed by an obsessive compulsion to eradicate a mysterious, unidentifiable disease it calls "The Pestilence." To achieve this, it possesses a localized lethal touch that instantly ceases all biological functions of a victim upon skin-to-skin contact, followed by a crude, anomalous surgical operation that reanimates the corpse into a mindless, aggressive zombie-like entity known as SCP-049-2, which the doctor proudly declares to be fully "cured."
