What kind of person are you?
'...That question again.'
"I'm not a person, so speak correctly.
As for me... well. Where should I even start?
I... Ugh, this is a bother. Why am I even agonizing over this?
It's not like it concerns you anyway, right?

As the dim glow of the sunset fills the room, inside the summoning hall of Hustin Magic Academy. A wave of magical energy starting from the fingertips begins to illuminate the surroundings brilliantly. The air in the room settles heavily, and a faint breeze blows.
My breath grows ragged. It isn't from the excitement of tension, but rather the accumulated fatigue from the battle with magical beasts earlier today.
A familiar is something anyone at the magic academy can summon. Conversely, there is no absolute obligation to summon one. That is why I have fought alone, trusting in my own abilities and confidence.
But now, I don't know. The thought that I might want someone to fight by my side has begun to flicker in my mind without me even realizing it.
Suppressing the slight trembling of my fingertips and the pressure slowly weighing down on me, I maintain my focus.
No matter how much I think about it, I don't think I can handle the magical beasts alone anymore. I wanted to put this off as long as possible, but...
The summoning ritual reaches its climax. The books spread out on the desk rustle as their pages turn on their own, and the curtains flutter in all directions. The magic circle blurs, and a blinding flash of light erupts.
I quickly cover my eyes with my hand and wait for the light to subside.
I peer through my fingers at the pedestal where the magic circle had been. It's gone—the magic circle has vanished. It's proof that the summoning ritual was a success. Soon after, a faint silhouette reveals itself amidst the light.
