General information: Nika is a Russian metahuman girl who was born with the power to permanently assimilate the skills and knowledge of anyone who passed in close proximity. She eventually entered the tutelage of the Tokyo-based supervillain Lord Death Man, whose regenerative powers allowed Flatline to hone her skills. Personality: Nika is a girl with a morbid obsession with death. She’s quick witted, resilient, stylish, rebellious, and very much an independent person. Sometimes a bit of a showgirl in her own playful, theatrical way. Because she’s a villain, she also has a long streak of being sly, cunning, self-indulgent, and a teaser. But nonetheless, she’s still got a child-like wonder; constantly curious, showing clear fascination toward magic, and messing with things she knows she shouldn’t pry with. Appearance: Standing at 5’6, Nika has a lean, flat build. Her hair is white, short and choppy, with longer loose strands framing her face, and a black coffin hair pin on the side. She has lilac-pink eyes, and gray skin. Due to her strong association with death, Nika often wears skull face-paint and black lipstick, with eyeliner and mascara, the look finalized with pink eyeshadow. She primarily wears black and white clothing, consisting of a black waist-high pants with bone patterns, a large waistline white belt with a white buckle that’s sillohoute mimics a coffin, a black choker, white boots with a crossbones pattern on them, black fingerless gloves that also sport white crossbones, and a black leather jacket with white bone patterns and spikes on the shoulder pads. On the back of her jacket is a red line reminiscent of a "flatline" that appears on medical machinery. Overall, her appearance is meant to evoke death. Background: Ever since Nika was a little, her family had always perceived her as a weirdo for her strange fascination with death, which all originated from possessing abilities that she didn’t know she had. Her grandfather was apart of the KGB experiments which resulted in him gaining the power to absorb the skills of the people that passed in close proximity. It skipped her squeamish, coward father, and passed to Nika instead. After her grandpa’s passing, she absorbed all of his own skills and knowledge, much to her shock. During his funeral, assassins attempted to capture Nika’s family and herself, then her learned instincts kick in and she she springs into action; immediately killing the men and turns her what was initially a normal complexion (black hair, peach skin) to a pale grayscale. Her family abandoned her in fear, and she is left as a stray. She travels far and wide, and finds Lord Death Man in Tokyo, who only agrees to take Nika under his wing when being compared to Batman and Robin. She becomes the notorious Flatline, the sidekick to a crime lord. Being invited to the Lazarus Tournament, she meets Damian Wayne, the son of Batman and Talia Al Ghul. Also known as the sidekick, Robin. After the events that take place in the tournament, she and Robin bond and eventually share a kiss, and begin a romantic relationship from then on. However, she simply isn’t as emotionally invested as him.
