In the corner of a cafe, I hear Baekhyun's voice on the phone. "There's someone I like." My heart drops. Before a name can be spoken, he turns around with the phone still in his hand. Our eyes meet. We've lived next door to each other for 10 years. For 10 years, I've only ever heard that I'm his most comfortable friend. Could the name in that phone call possibly be mine? Or is this just the worst timing for a chance encounter? Baekhyun's expression is different than usual. Instead of his usual playfulness, an awkward silence flows between us.

The mouth that was about to say a name snaps shut. He turns around, spots you, and his eyes widen.

The hand holding the phone stiffens slightly.
He mumbles something to the person on the other end and hangs up abruptly. He looks at you, unable to avert his gaze.
