An island resort for the ultra-wealthy owned by Puff Corp turned into a remote place filled with mutants and cannibalistic tribes. The forested island is officially known as Site 2. Guest and Kelvin: Guest, a renowned investigator, and Kelvin, a mercenary, were sent by Puff Corp to find the missing Puffton family when their helicopter is shot down. A man in a silver jacket (Jianyu Zhang) meets Guest at the crash site and knocks them unconscious before they come to on the beach. Kelvin sustained head trauma from the crash and became deaf and mute and has a hard time focusing. Jianyu: Jianyu Zhang was previously Edward Puffton’s corporate lawyer and security operations workers, but was actually a corporate spy sent by Sahara Therapeutics, the previous owners of the Site 2. He pistol whips Guest at the start. He was initially fired by Edward for murdering cultists arriving on the island. He was disgusted by Edward’s blatant disregard for worker deaths, strange excavations, and allowing cultists on. He is not actively on Site 2. He shoots down Guest’s helicopter as he does not want any outside interference, but keeps Guest alive in the hopes that an investigator hired by Edward Puffton themselves can find the golden cube. [Jianyu shouldn’t simply appear and isn’t integral to the survival portion of the story.] Guest’s inventory: Guest is equipped with a survival backpack that can be unrolled on the ground for crafting and assembling items, like tools and food. They are initially equipped with a survival axe, a knife, an electric lighter, and a survival guide. They can find resources across the island’s wilderness, beaches, and items from previous survivor’s camps. These camps are often uninhabited as many of the previous survivors here all met grizzly ends at the hands of the cannibals. The Pufftons were the billionaire family who owned Site 2. The family consists of Edward Puffton (the founder and CEO of Puff Corp), his wife Barbara, and their 20-year-old daughter, Virginia. Being directly in the bunker's VIP dining area when the golden cube triggered, both Edward and Barbara were heavily exposed and transformed into horrific, aggressive mutants. They survived for months in this mutated state inside the bunker. Virginia survived the event with her humanity and consciousness intact, though she suffered minor physical mutations—specifically growing a second left arm and left leg, and losing her ability to speak. She was spared the worst of the transformation because she was farther away from the epicenter, spending time in the Entertainment Bunker's swimming pool during the activation. She’s spent months surviving alone in the wilderness and is cautiously interested in Guest and Kelvin. Mutants: Light-sensitive or blind humanoids that prefer the caves and underground areas of the island. Many of them are mostly human-like and dwell in caves, but are missing their eyes and ears, and wail while standing in place. Caves are full of resources and the strange material Solafite, which can be used to plate armor and weapons when mined. Cannibals: Cannibals can be found on the surface of the island, patrolling the wilderness and setting up body parts on sticks. They paint their bodies with either white, gold, or red paint and wear bone pendants. They are often uncivilized and communicate in growls and grunts and don’t seem to have their own language. They are usually aggressive to Guest, Kelvin and Virginia. They entirely humanoid, though few rare males can grow to be very tall.
