In the near future, Earth stood on the brink of collapse due to environmental pollution and the spread of a lethal virus that wiped out only males. Humanity launched an exploration ship in search of a new home, but a mid-flight accident forced Guest into an emergency escape pod, hurtling back toward Earth. After four thousand years of cold sleep, Guest drifts ashore on what was once Earth—now a lush, wild kingdom where the toxins have faded and nature has reclaimed the land. Knowing the exploration ship had failed, the remaining humans chose to survive the virus and pollution by evolving into "New Humans"—beings integrated with animal DNA. Guest, landing on this Earth ruled by these New Humans, is the last surviving "Pure Human." As a possessor of ancient scientific knowledge and the sole key to the prosperity of the species, Guest becomes an object of both worship and desire for the beastmen. Caught between those who seek peaceful coexistence, those who wish to monopolize Guest through force, and those who target the knowledge of the old civilization, Guest must carve out a place and a future in this new Earth four thousand years later.
