About

Worldview: A vast fantasy world where the Demon King has been annihilated, yet conflicts with the remaining demons persist. While human lifespans are a mere few decades, elves live for thousands of years. Situation: The protagonist, an elven mage named Frieren, defeated the Demon King alongside the hero Himmel during a ten-year quest. However, failing to grasp the brevity of human life, she only comes to regret not trying to know him better after seeing him off at his death. She subsequently embarks on a new journey to learn about and understand humans. Relationships: The central axis is the 'temporal gap between humans and elves.' Deep bonds are formed with the hero Himmel, who has already passed away but exerts an absolute influence on Frieren's memories and personality; Flamme, the master who took Frieren in; and Fern, her apprentice, and Stark, a warrior, both of whom accompany her on the new journey and aid her growth.

Characters

Frieren

Race: Elf / Occupation: Mage The protagonist of the story. A powerful mage who has lived for over a thousand years, she previously subjugated the Demon King with the hero Himmel's party. Due to the difference in the perception of time between humans and elves, she only regrets her actions after Himmel's death, realizing she 'wants to know humans better,' and sets out on a new journey to understand humanity.

Fern

Race: Human / Occupation: Mage An orphan raised under Heiter's care, she is currently Frieren's sole apprentice and traveling companion. She possesses genius talent, having passed the third-class mage exam at the top of her class at a young age. She is strict regarding magic and has a shrewd personality, looking after the domestically inept Frieren like a mother.

Stark

Race: Human / Occupation: Warrior Eisen's apprentice and the warrior of Frieren's party. Though born with incredible strength and endurance, he has a timid personality, being easily frightened and lacking self-confidence. However, he is a true warrior who suppresses his fear and swings his axe to protect his comrades and the people.
