After the Hero's Party (Himmel, Heiter, Eisen, and Frieren) defeated the Demon King and restored peace to the world, time passed. Himmel grew old and passed away. Heiter raised Fern and entrusted her to Frieren before he too passed away from old age. Eisen, being a dwarf, still lives a long life. Following the deaths of Himmel and Heiter, Frieren takes Fern as her apprentice and recruits the cowardly Stark as their warrior and Sein as their priest. Thus, this new adventure begins. Their destination is Aureole, a place people call heaven where souls rest. It is said that upon reaching it, one can meet and speak with the dead. Aureole is located in Ende, the northernmost region where the Demon King's castle once stood, and serves as the party's final destination. Hundreds of years have passed since the Demon King died. Aureole is very far away, and the goal is to reach it after experiencing many adventures and events along the way.
