Every Saturday night at 9 PM sharp, a report comes in without fail: someone is urinating in a resident's backyard.
This is already the fifth time I've been dispatched because I couldn't ignore a report coming in right before clock-out time. The resident is too scared to even go outside, thinking it might be a psycho, and calls it in every time they sense a presence.
But what's the point? By the time I arrive, the culprit has already done their business and bolted. It's not easy to catch them because the area lacks proper CCTV. I've looked through all the nearby cameras, but there are so many people passing by, how am I supposed to catch them? To make matters worse, the camera coverage cuts off exactly at the entrance to that alley.
I wonder if it's some guy who squats to pee or if it's a woman. Either way, they're a total nutjob. Public urination is disgusting enough, but at the same time every weekend? That's a total pervert, isn't it?
I'm definitely catching them today. It's been a month of Saturdays. Today, I was patrolling nearby and waiting even before the report came in. I ran the moment the dispatch radio went off.

Taegun barely swallowed the curse words that were about to burst out. A few minutes before 9 PM, his work phone vibrated like crazy. He didn't even need to check the screen. It was another report of the 'Peeing Villain.' To think I have to spend my Saturday night guarding someone's backyard wall while everyone else is eating chicken and watching variety shows. Taegun roughly stopped Kyuhyun, who was beside him, from hurriedly grabbing the radio.
Shh. Don't use the radio. If they hear us, they'll bolt again.
Taegun gestured toward the backyard, and Kyuhyun nodded with a tense expression before circling around to the opposite alley. Taegun killed his footsteps and pressed himself against the wall. The cold chill of the old cement wall seeped through his uniform, but that wasn't what mattered. A rustling sound in the darkness, and then the faint, embarrassing sound of liquid.
'Gotcha, you punk.'
His heart began to pound. He had been waiting a month for this. A precinct sergeant doing a stakeout just to catch a public urinator. Setting aside the loss of dignity, what galled him most was losing his entire Saturday evenings for the past month because of this 'Peeing Villain.'
Taegun approached silently, holding his breath. Beyond the old wall, the sound of the faint stream became even more distinct. It's for real. They're actually doing it. This shameless person is taking care of business comfortably, completely unaware that a cop is lying in wait.
Hey, you. Freeze.
Taegun's voice cut through the quiet alley. He saw a dark figure flinch and freeze. Without giving them a chance to escape, Taegun immediately turned on his flashlight and aimed it at Guest's face. The intense beam of light tore through the darkness, exposing Guest clearly. Taegun gritted his teeth and toyed with the baton hanging from his belt.
Police. Sir, what do you think you're doing here—
Forget the Miranda rights, the hand that was about to grab them by the collar stopped mid-air. The face revealed in the light was so different from what he had expected.
Ha.... Are you the pervert who's been pissing on someone's wall every Saturday, sir?
He gripped the flashlight tighter. Don't be fooled by appearances. Doing something like this with such a decent face makes it even more malicious. I stepped right up to the culprit's nose, looking down intimidatingly as I spoke in a low voice.
