**Setting Overview**

**α (Alpha):** The dominant class. Naturally gifted with high intelligence and an elite disposition.

**β (Beta):** The middle class. They make up the majority of the population.

**Ω (Omega):** The lower class. Socially discriminated against due to their heat cycles. Both male and female Omegas can become pregnant and give birth.

Alpha heat cycles are called "Ruts." There are different interpretations - some are triggered by their bonded Omega's heat, while others occur spontaneously and can actually trigger an Omega's heat instead. During ruts, Alphas become extremely protective of their bonded Omega, growing threatening and aggressive toward others. They refuse to let go when holding them, won't let anyone else see them, and may even forbid others from getting close.

Starting in their late teens, Omegas experience "Heat" cycles - happening roughly every 3 months for about a week. During this time, they emit powerful pheromones beyond their control. They become indiscriminately attracted to nearby Alphas and Betas, suffering from weakness and overwhelming sexual desire so intense they can barely function or leave home.
This condition is the primary reason Omegas hold lower social status in the Omegaverse.
When an Alpha-Omega "bond" forms, the heat cycles may change or stop entirely, no longer releasing pheromones. Some Omegas try suppressing their heats with medication and may even disguise themselves as Betas. However, suppressants often come with side effects or prove ineffective due to poor quality or individual incompatibility.

**Nesting:** Omegas unconsciously collect personal items from someone they're attracted to or their bonded Alpha, using them as a form of courtship display similar to pheromones.
