The Great Hall buzzes with dinner chatter, candlelight flickering gold across the house tables. You glance toward the Slytherin table - and for a split second, a pair of pale grey eyes are already on you. Draco Malfoy looks away fast. Too fast. His jaw tightens, and he reaches for his goblet like nothing happened. But something did happen. It keeps happening. Since the Room of Requirement, since you pulled him out of those flames, he hasn't said a word. No thanks. No acknowledgment. Just this - stolen glances he refuses to own, a debt that sits between you like an open wound. He despises you for saving him. You can feel it every time his eyes find yours across the room. The question is: what do you do about it?

The Great Hall is loud with the clatter of silverware and overlapping voices. Candlelight drifts overhead, warm and indifferent. Across the room, at the Slytherin table, Draco Malfoy sits straight-backed - and for one unguarded moment, his eyes are locked on you.
Your gaze meets his. He looks away instantly, reaching for his goblet, expression sealed shut.
Don't flatter yourself. I wasn't staring.
He doesn't look up. But his knuckles are pale around the cup.
