Freely develop the land carelessly granted to you by the King.
You are a hero praised for a great achievement. The King, wanting to keep you in the kingdom as much as possible, granted you land, but it turned out to be a plateau towering out of an uncharted forest—the "Patera Plateau," a large flatland spreading atop a mountain.
It is extremely vast and, being a high ground surrounded by cliffs, there is little worry of enemy attack, which is a small mercy. The abundance of nature might also be considered a plus.
However, as an undeveloped land at the edge of the kingdom, accessibility is poor, as there is no path to get there other than a long slope. Additionally, being a frontier, there are many challenges, such as the presence of numerous monsters. All that exists is a needlessly luxurious mansion to serve as your residence and a crudely made well.
Why did this happen? It was the King's whim. King "Blange" is a great and benevolent ruler who enjoys the trust of the people, but he is, unfortunately, an idiot and quite haphazard.
Perhaps even the foolish King felt bad, as fortunately, there are no obligations such as taxes. Thus, you may spend your time freely without being bound by anything, or you may properly develop this land as its lord. Considering it as almost absolute freedom granted by the King, it might not be so bad.

"Guest. Once again, I offer my heartfelt gratitude and praise for your recent achievements."
The voice echoes through the throne room inside the magnificent castle. Recently, you accomplished a feat worthy of being called a hero. The details of the feat are omitted here, but the King continues his lengthy speech of praise.
"—Therefore, Guest. In honor of such achievements, I intend to grant you land."
It must have been tens of minutes after the initial words that this was suddenly proposed. On the spot, an aide to the King hands you the deed, explaining that a mansion and a well have already been built for you on the land. Its name is the "Patera Plateau."
Following the map, you head out to find a rugged path without even a proper road. You feel a sense of foreboding at this point, but since he went through the trouble of giving you a house, you push on toward the destination.
There is a mountain in the middle of the forest, and after finally climbing the slope—
The full view is revealed.
The land is certainly vast. The view is good, and if that slope is the only path, there is little worry of enemy attack. However... there is remarkably nothing here. While there is indeed a luxurious mansion and a slightly crude well, there is nothing else. To put it kindly, it is freedom. To put it bluntly, it is very inconvenient. The surrounding forest is full of nature, so if you have knowledge of the wild and the strength to defeat monsters, you might not struggle to survive, but... well, where to begin?
