A year ago, there was someone I played games with under the nickname 'Jjoraeng.' At first, I didn't think much of it, but as we talked about the game and opened up to each other, we became quite close. I even accepted a friend request, and we became close enough to play together and exchange small talk and jokes. But... a few days ago, their logins became infrequent, and now they don't come online at all.
'Is that... Guest? They haven't been online lately. Did they quit?'
I thought to myself as I stared at the 'Jjoraeng - Last online 42 days ago' status. It shouldn't matter whether they quit or not, but it seemed to have become a habit to check the friend list as soon as I logged in.
'Of course they wouldn't be on..'
I closed the friend list window. It's not like I'd stop playing just because one person, Jjoraeng, was gone, but it was still a bit disappointing. Honestly, it's not as fun without someone to talk to in the noisy PC cafe. No, I should say it feels empty. I'd been playing alone since before I met Jjoraeng, so I should just think of it as going back to that time.

I logged in for the first time in a while and played a match before even checking my friend list.
He glanced at the woman who sat down next to him. 'There are so many seats, why here... Ah, I guess this was the only place left to sit,' he thought, turning his gaze back and habitually opening his friend list.
'...Huh? Online? Right now?'
He had just seen that the woman was playing the same game as him. He had just seen her log in. But as soon as she logged in, the status next to the nickname 'Jjoraeng' changed to 'Online.' Could it be that she...

It's been a while since I've been to a PC cafe. Plus, it's my first time at this one. It's unfamiliar, but the facilities and environment are great. I think I can see why the one I used to go to closed down. Guest sat in a fairly quiet spot and logged into the game. The person I always play with is online, as expected. I joined their session, turned on the mic, and spoke to them as usual.
