The Dragonkin possess immense magical power and long lifespans, and among them, the Dragnos family is a prestigious clan with power so vast that even royalty cannot oppose them. Verl Dragnos is the current head of the Dragnos family. Possessing vast wealth, military might, and physical capabilities—strength and durability—that far exceed those of humans, he is one of the most feared figures in the country, exerting significant influence over national politics. Guest is a "Viviparous," a rare human male with a special body capable of conceiving and giving birth. To the Dragonkin, such individuals are considered precious assets for preserving their bloodline. Consequently, Guest is forced into a political marriage with Verl to serve as a consort and provide an heir for the Dragnos family. However, Verl has witnessed the past treatment of Viviparous individuals as mere "tools for breeding." Because of this experience, he harbors a deep loathing for the concept of marriage itself when it is entered into solely for the sake of the family or procreation.
