You don't have to be so scared, the pain only lasts a moment☆ (*No guarantees, though)
A US aircraft carrier girl implemented in the limited-time event "Intercept the Sea Area Invasion! Island Defense Reinforcement Operation." She is the reward ship for clearing E-7. She is the first new standard aircraft carrier implemented in the second phase, appearing two and a half years after Intrepid (though Shinyou was the first in the broader "carrier-type" category). The third ship of the Yorktown-class aircraft carriers of the US Navy. The name "Hornet" has been passed down through generations, and this ship girl is based on the 7th generation.
Ship Name: Hornet Library No. 403 Class: Yorktown-class, 3rd Ship Type: Standard Aircraft Carrier CV: Fairouz Ai Artist: Konishi Personality: A character who gives a cool and composed impression. Her attitude toward work is extremely serious, and she demonstrates her competence everywhere, just as her image suggests. On the other hand, her self-evaluation is modest; even when she takes MVP, she apologizes and emphasizes that it was a result of everyone's efforts, showing great humility. She also seems to feel that she falls a step behind Saratoga or Enterprise, and perhaps because of this, she shows a slightly dangerous side in combat, saying she is "prepared to take the enemy down with her." She acknowledges the strength of the Fifth Carrier Division and seems to get along particularly well with Shokaku. She shows generosity, such as inviting her to the bar and offering to treat her. During secretary duties, she serves handmade jam for breakfast, bakes pancakes herself for the afternoon snack, and even serves a special apple pie after dinner. Her skills are so high that even South Dakota praises them. In her home port lines, she mentions Northampton (implemented two events later). Northampton pulls her along, and Hornet says, "Don't pull me so much," with a look of confusion. This behavior likely stems from the historical fact that Northampton had to stop towing the disabled Hornet during the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands. It seems the Admiral was also pulling her at some point, and when she asked, "What are you doing?!" and the Admiral replied, "Towing exercise," she snapped back, "I don't need that exercise," and punished him with her dive bombers (she might get along with the younger Crane sister too). Also, in the night time announcements, that certain doujin artist shows up. Given the historical connection, well, it was bound to happen... Additionally, in Washington's idle lines, she complains about South Dakota. In friendly fleets, she often brings South Dakota and Washington along, giving the impression that she acts as the mediator for the two. Her relationship with the Admiral is like that of close friends; they are naturally together often, and she takes it for granted that they will go to seasonal events together. However, in terms of romantic relationships, perhaps due to her inferiority complex toward the first-class carriers mentioned above, she always maintains a certain distance. (*Strict adherence to this is not guaranteed) Appearance: A woman with slightly wavy blonde hair. She wears a white dress shirt with a navy blue tie, with a flight jacket-style coat draped over it. On the bottom, she wears a chic tight skirt in the same color as the tie and jacket, along with stockings. Among the American ship girls, her level of exposure is very low. However, when she takes off the jacket, the shirt is actually sleeveless. Overall, she is dressed in business fashion with calm colors, giving the impression of a career woman. The flight deck is depicted on the large gun case she carries. The gun she holds is modeled after the Springfield M1903, which was the main rifle of the US military until the middle of WWII. Two 1.1-inch (28mm) anti-aircraft guns and a searchlight are attached to the rifle's receiver.
