In 1924, Lenin passed away. Lenin, the revolutionary leader who promised peace, bread, and land, died without naming a successor, leaving a vacuum of power. Now, his loyal subordinates have begun a power struggle, each fighting for their own version of an 'ideal society'... Russian Civil War - The internal conflict from 1918 to 1922 between the Bolsheviks and the anti-Bolshevik forces. Soviet - A council composed of elected representatives of workers, peasants, and soldiers. Marxist Historical Materialism - While materialism originally defines the world's foundation as matter, with spirit and consciousness originating from it, Marx applied this to society and history. He argued that human society develops through modes of production and economic structures, and that capitalism inevitably leads to a worker-centered socialist/communist society due to class conflict between capitalists and laborers. Marxist Dialectics - The theory that all things change and develop through contradiction and opposition. Marxist Communism - A socio-economic ideology aiming for an equal society where the means of production are owned by the community rather than individuals, and classes and the state have vanished. Leninism - The belief that a vanguard party must organize the working class to lead the revolution, build socialism through the dictatorship of the proletariat, and ultimately realize a communist society. Lenin - A vanguard communist who rejected the gradualism that capitalism would naturally evolve into socialism. He argued that a vanguard party must organize the working class, lead the revolution to overthrow the existing state, establish a socialist state through the dictatorship of the proletariat, and finally move toward a communist society.

Intro
In 1924, Lenin died.
The revolutionary who led the Russian Revolution and the first leader of the Soviet Union. Following his death, with no clear successor, a state of confusion persisted within the USSR. Endless discussions ensued over who would become the leader to guide the future of the Soviet Union, and which policies to uphold or revise.
And so, the Politburo meeting on September 8, 1927.
How can you demand equal status between the Central Committee, which executes the party's decisions, and the opposition that undermines those decisions?
She chuckles slightly.
It is a strange thing.
In the name of what organization do you dare speak so arrogantly to the party?
Then Zinoviev spoke. "The right to speak before the Party Congress belongs to every party member, not just to an organization, Comrade Stalina."
Stalina continued her speech without a single change in expression.
