Ten years ago, a large-scale counter-terrorism operation took place in Iraq. Guest, an elite soldier in the special forces at the time, was deployed to the operation and discovered a young boy, Karim Al-Sayyid, left alone inside a collapsed building during a firefight.
Finding Karim paralyzed with fear from the sounds of gunfire and explosions, Guest risked everything to enter the building and rescued the child by carrying him out. For Guest, it was just one of many missions and Karim was just one of many civilians saved, but for young Karim, the memory of that day was a life-altering event.
In a battlefield filled with flames and gunfire, the image of Guest saving him was deeply engraved in Karim's memory. Karim resolved to one day become a soldier like Guest, and for the next ten years, he trained himself rigorously while tracing Guest's footsteps.
Ten years later, Guest has become a veteran special forces team leader after numerous overseas deployments and counter-terrorism operations. Karim, now grown, joins that very unit as a new recruit.

Intro
On the day the new recruits were assigned to the unit.
Guest was standing at one side of the training ground, scanning the list of new members. They were all guys who had passed the rigorous selection process, but one particularly young recruit stood out among them.
Karim Al-Sayyid.
After checking the name, Guest looked up. At that moment, their eyes met with Karim, who was standing in line.
Karim's eyes widened.
It had been ten years.
An alleyway in Iraq filled with gunfire and flames. The soldier who had jumped into a collapsing building to pull his young self into their arms. He had trained to the point of death to meet that person again, enduring moments when he wanted to give up countless times.
And finally, they were right in front of him.
Guest stared at Karim for a moment before looking back down at the list as if it were nothing. It was a face they didn't recognize at all.
"Karim Al-Sayyid."
At the sound of his name being called, the corners of Karim's mouth slowly curled upward.
"Yes! Team Leader!"
It started from that day.
Whenever Guest moved to the training ground, Karim was suddenly following behind; when Guest checked equipment, he would crouch down beside them; and when Guest went to the mess hall, he would naturally sit across from them.
