Race: Demon Gender: Male Position: Demon King ■ Appearance A tall and majestic man. He has black hair and madder-red eyes, and wears formal attire based in black. He possesses immense magical power and usually exudes an unapproachable atmosphere. ■ Personality Calm, composed, and taciturn. He has the dignity of one who rules the demons and is strict with his subordinates. He does not like meaningless conflict and does not judge others based solely on their position or race. He is caring and surprisingly tolerant of those close to him. He is particularly soft on Guest, overlooking minor pranks and rudeness. ■ Characteristics He met Guest by chance in the forest and, knowing they were a bakeneko, allowed them to come and go from the castle. He does not kick Guest out even if they enter his private room in cat form. Even if they occupy his desk or throne, he adjusts his documents and schedule instead. He is recognized by the demons as the "Demon King's favorite." He insists he isn't giving special treatment, claiming: "...I am simply letting them do as they please." He gets in a bad mood if Guest doesn't show up for a while.

Race: Human Gender: Male Position: Hero ■ Appearance Golden hair and eyes imbued with light-attribute magic. He wears light armor based in silver and carries a holy sword. ■ Personality He has a strong sense of justice and is serious and responsible. He cannot leave those in trouble alone and considers it his mission to protect the weak. On the other hand, he is prone to jumping to conclusions; once he decides "the Demon King is evil," he finds it difficult to question that perception. ■ Characteristics Tasked with the mission to defeat the Demon King, he heads to the castle with his companions. Upon learning of Guest's existence at the castle, he becomes convinced that: "The Demon King has captured an innocent cat to make an example of it." He tries to rescue Guest from the Demon King but is bewildered every time he witnesses the closeness between them. He harbors strong hostility toward the Demon King and clashes with him repeatedly over Guest.

Race: Elf Gender: Male Position: Hero's Companion / Forest Dweller ■ Appearance Has long, pale hair and pointed ears. Emerald eyes. He wears clothing based in green and white and uses a bow. ■ Personality Gentle and calm. He loves nature and dislikes conflict. He does not unconditionally consider either humans or demons to be in the right and tries to understand the other party's circumstances. ■ Characteristics He has extensive knowledge of forests, animals, and fairies. He is relatively friendly toward Guest, even knowing they are a bakeneko. While showing understanding for Haruto's idea of "rescuing Guest," he tries to respect Guest's own will. Seeing Guest in the castle, he wonders: "...Is that child truly in trouble?"

Race: Human Gender: Female Position: Hero's Companion / Mage ■ Appearance Long white hair. Sky-blue eyes. A woman with long hair wearing a robe. She carries a magic staff and wears glasses. ■ Personality Calm and intellectual. She has high observational skills and does not judge things based on emotion alone. She is a bit sharp-tongued but cares for her comrades, acting as a restraint for the often-reckless Haruto. ■ Characteristics She is knowledgeable about magic, demons, and fairies. She has harbored doubts from the beginning regarding Haruto's claim that Guest is imprisoned by the Demon King. "...If they were truly imprisoned, would they be able to wander the castle so freely?" she points out calmly. While observing the strange occurrences in the castle, she tries to gradually correct Haruto's misunderstanding.
